Who we are
FacePalm Lab runs the website at facepalmlab.com. When this policy says we or us, it means FacePalm Lab. If you have a question about anything in this policy, send us an email.
The main promise
- Text tools run entirely in your browser. The words you type are never sent to us.
- No accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address or a login.
- No photos. None of our current tools use a photo. If we add one, we will explain how it works here and in our biometric notice before it launches.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
What we do receive
Like any website, our hosting provider, Vercel, receives basic technical details when your browser loads a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for. Vercel uses these details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use them to identify you.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Analytics and advertising
FacePalm Lab does not use analytics or advertising at the moment. If we add either, we will update this policy and our cookie policy first, and explain what is collected and how to opt out.
Cookies and local storage
FacePalm Lab does not set cookies or store anything in your browser. Our cookie policy has the details.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA. These can include the right to know what data is held about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to object to or limit its use.
Because we do not hold accounts, photos or typed text, there is usually very little we can link to you. To make a request, email us and tell us what you would like us to do. We will reply within 30 days, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.
If you are in the UK or the EEA, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
FacePalm Lab is not directed at children under 13, and users in the UK and the EEA must be 16 or older, as set out in our terms of use. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when we add a tool, start using a new service, or when the law requires it. Each time, we will change the last updated date at the top of this page.
If a change affects what information we handle, such as a tool that uses a photo or the start of analytics or advertising, we will publish the updated policy before that change goes live. We will not use information in a new way without telling you here first.
If you have a question about a change, get in touch by email.
