What invisible text and invisible characters are
Invisible text looks like nothing at all, but it is not empty. It is made of Unicode characters that have a width, or at least a place in the text, without any visible shape. To an app, invisible text is a real character. To a person, it is blank space, which is why people also call it blank text or an invisible character.
That difference is useful. Many apps refuse empty names, trim plain spaces from the start and end of a bio, or block blank messages. A blank Unicode character gets past those checks because the app sees something there.
How to use the invisible text generator
- Pick a blank character. The Hangul filler is selected by default because it works in the most places.
- Choose how many characters you need, or tap a quick amount such as 1, 3, 10 or 50.
- Tap Copy.
- Paste into the name, bio or message field of your app.
The box under the result tells you how many blank characters are ready to copy, since you cannot see them.
The blank characters we offer
| Character | Width | Works well in | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hangul filler | Wide | Discord, WhatsApp, many games | The best first choice |
| Braille blank | Wide | Instagram, TikTok, X | Good for spacing in bios |
| Halfwidth Hangul filler | Narrow | Name fields with tight limits | Takes less room |
| Zero width space | None | Breaking up words and links | Often removed by apps |
| Hangul choseong filler | Wide | A backup when others fail | Accepted by some stricter apps |
Results change as apps update their rules, so if one character stops working, try another.
Popular uses for invisible text
- Blank names. Make a game or chat name that looks empty. Some games block this, so test first.
- Empty messages. Send a message that looks blank as a joke or a placeholder.
- Bio spacing. Add line breaks and centered spacing to an Instagram or TikTok bio where plain spaces are trimmed.
- Clean captions. Push hashtags further down a caption with blank lines.
- Stopping auto links. Insert a zero width space inside a word that an app keeps turning into a link.

Tips and limits
Test in a private place first. Paste into a draft, a note or a message to yourself to make sure the app keeps the character.
Use the fewest you need. Some apps count each blank as a character toward limits like the 32 character Discord nickname.
Expect changes. Platforms update their filters over time. A character that works today may be removed later.
Be fair. Do not use invisible characters to hide links, dodge filters or impersonate anyone. That breaks the rules of most apps.
Why invisible characters exist
These characters were not made for blank names. The Hangul fillers help build Korean syllables, the braille blank is an empty braille cell, and the zero width space tells software where a line may break. Because they are real parts of writing systems, apps cannot simply block them without breaking text in other languages.
Quick tips for popular apps
| App | What to try first | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Discord | Hangul filler | Some servers block blank names, so try another blank if it is rejected |
| Hangul filler or braille blank | Works for blank messages and blank group names | |
| Braille blank | Great for line breaks and spacing in bios | |
| TikTok | Braille blank | Use it to separate lines in your bio |
| Games | Hangul filler, then halfwidth filler | Many games check names, so results vary |
How to check that a blank character is there
Because you cannot see invisible text, it is easy to lose track of it. Here are three ways to check.
- Watch the length. The box under the result shows how many blank characters you are copying.
- Move the cursor. After pasting, use the arrow keys to move through the text. The cursor stops on each blank character.
- Select it. Drag across the space. Highlighted blank characters show up as a shaded area.
Invisible text and accessibility
Screen readers may announce blank characters, read them as unknown symbols or skip them entirely. A blank name can also make it hard for people to mention or find you. Use invisible text for spacing and fun, and avoid it in places where people need to identify you.
Invisible text compared with a normal space
A normal space is the most common character in any text, so apps treat it specially. They remove spaces at the start and end of names, collapse several spaces into one and refuse names made only of spaces. Blank Unicode characters are not spaces as far as the app is concerned, so they survive those rules. That is the whole trick behind invisible text, and it is also why apps sometimes add new rules to block specific blank characters.
If you only need a little extra spacing inside normal text, try a single braille blank between words. It keeps the gap without collapsing.
Privacy
The generator runs entirely in your browser. It does not upload anything, and we only count which blank character was copied.
