What the cursive text generator does
The cursive text generator turns ordinary letters into flowing script that looks handwritten. You can paste it into places that do not allow fonts, such as Instagram bios, TikTok names, Discord profiles and text messages.
It works by swapping each letter for a script letter from the Unicode standard. Unicode includes a full alphabet of script capitals and lowercase letters, originally for mathematics, plus a bold script set. Because these are real characters and not a font setting, they look the same wherever you paste them.

Why a few letters look different
When you look closely at cursive text, some letters may look slightly out of place. Unicode added a handful of script letters early on, in a block called Letterlike Symbols, and later filled in the rest of the alphabet in a different block. The generator uses the early letters where they exist so your text is complete. On most phones they blend in, but some fonts draw them in a slightly different style.
Tips for cursive that people can read
Keep it short. Script is lovely for a name or one line and tiring for a paragraph.
Use bold cursive at small sizes. Thin script can look faint on small screens. Bold cursive stays readable.
Leave numbers and links plain. Script has no digits, and links need normal letters to work.
Avoid all capitals. Script capitals are ornate. A whole word in script capitals is hard to read.
Where cursive text works
Cursive text works in almost every modern app, including Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, Discord, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Pinterest and most games that accept Unicode names. Some sign up forms only accept basic letters, so use cursive in display names rather than login names.
Accessibility
Screen readers may read script letters as mathematical script capital A and similar names, which is hard to follow. Use cursive as decoration and keep important information in plain text.
Cursive text generator or cursive font generator
People call this kind of tool a cursive generator, a cursive text generator or a cursive font generator, and all three mean the same thing. There is still a real difference between a font and text. A handwriting font is installed on a device and only works in apps that let you choose fonts, such as word processors and design tools. Unicode cursive is different. It is made of separate characters, so it shows up as cursive wherever you paste it, even in apps that do not allow fonts. The trade off is choice. Handwriting fonts come in thousands of styles, while Unicode offers two cursive styles, regular and bold.

How to copy cursive on iPhone and Android
- Type your text into the box and wait for the cursive result.
- Tap Copy next to the style you like. The button changes to Copied.
- Open your app, tap and hold in the text field, and choose Paste.
If the paste looks like plain letters, the app has removed the styled characters. This is rare, but some sign up forms and games only allow basic letters.
Cursive capitals and lowercase
Script capitals are large and decorative, while lowercase script is simpler and easier to read. For the most elegant result, start a name with one capital and use lowercase for the rest. Avoid writing a whole word in script capitals, which turns into a tangle of loops on a small screen.
Where cursive looks best
Cursive text works best in short, personal places. It suits the name line of an Instagram profile, the title of a Pinterest board, a wedding hashtag caption or a signature at the end of a message. It is less suited to long captions, comments or anything people need to read quickly, because script letters take more effort to read on a small screen.
For a polished look, use cursive for one element only. A cursive name with a plain bio, or a plain caption with a cursive sign off, looks cleaner than a profile full of script.
Privacy
The cursive generator runs entirely in your browser. FacePalm Lab never sees or stores your text.
